Heritage Enterprise Hub: Spotlight on The Wildlife Trust BCN

Meet the Wildlife Trust Beds, Cambs, and Northants and learn more about the Wilder Futures project. Blended - join online or in person

Interested in the natural landscape of Luton? Want to learn more about the kinds of projects funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund around Land and Nature?

Join us for this introduction to Bradgers Hill Wilder Futures, a vital and timely project running until 2024. Designed to inspire people to understand, care for and take action for the precious green spaces that envelop the urban Luton landscape, it has communities at its heart. The project will use creative ways to engage diverse audiences and forge a new sense of place and belonging within the local green spaces.

Get to know more about the project from Communities and Wildlife Manager for Bedfordshire Matt Sutcliffe, before we open the floor to talk about our green spaces in Luton and Beds and the importance of preserving and engaging with our natural heritage.

Presented as part of the Heritage Enterprise Hub.

This is a blended event, and participants can access either through Zoom or in person on our Luton campus. Zoom joining details will be sent out to all attendees in advance. Please use the Eventbrite link to sign up.

About the Wildlife Trust Beds, Cambs, Northants.

We are part of a national movement of Wildlife Trusts of which Sir David Attenborough is President Emeritus.

We work locally in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and we have a big mission - we want to stop nature's decline.

It is no secret that nature is in trouble. Wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate - some are calling it the next mass extinction - and the threat of climate catastrophe is a constant worry. We live in a time of emergency.

But there is still hope - we can tackle both of these critical issues - but we need to scale up and act now.

Together, with the movement of Wildlife Trusts, we want at least 30% of our land and sea to be connected and protected for nature’s recovery by 2030. Making more space for nature to become abundant once again will give our struggling wildlife the chance to recover and also restore beautiful wild places - places that store carbon and help to tackle the climate crisis.
