Central Bedfordshire Council's Culture team are working with students of Central Bedfordshire College to commission up top six local artists/creatives/musicians to run workshops for them on their Creativity Day which takes place on March 27th, 2024.

The Creativity Day will provide college students with the opportunity to take part in a range of creative activities. This could be through a series of booked sessions (the same one repeated for different groups) or through drop in activities. This is a workshop style event where students will get to try or create something new with you. The first session of the day will be a session specifically for students with Special Educational Needs, which will be supported by specialist teachers, with the rest of the day open to all students.

Here is the fun part! The Creativity Day is fully youth led (supported by the culture team and the college enrichment team). If you wish to provide a workshop, the students leading the project will require a 2-3 min video of your offer. Students will then commission a selection of artists for the Creativity Day from their favouritevideos.

To apply please

1) send an email to culture.education@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk outlining a brief description of your creative practice, your experience of working creatively with young people and confirming that you have public liability insurance (please feel free to signpost to online examples of your work).

2) A short video introduction showcasing the type of workshop you would offer at the college. This should be no more than 3 minutes and should introduce you, your creative practice, and a broad overview of the workshop you'd like to deliver. A video taken on your phone is absolutely fine! The videos are for the selection panel of students so please bear this in mind when recording.

This is a partnership initiative between Central Bedfordshire Council’s Culture Team and Central Bedfordshire College.

Fee for selected practitioners - £100 preparation and materials and £250 for delivery on the day. Please note that this is inclusive of travel.
